Emily Hung, M.D. Board Certified Rheumatologist

Dr. Hung was born and raised in Houston and graduated from Bellaire High School with a perfect SAT score. She attended Princeton University, where she received the President's Award for Academic Achievement, and graduated with High Honors with a degree in Chemistry. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she served as Chief Fellow.

Board certified in Rheumatology, Dr. Hung is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. She has presented her research nationally, published in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored a chapter in Kelley's Textbook of Rheumatology. Prior to joining the Woodlands Arthritis Clinic, Dr. Hung practiced in Houston with the St. Luke's Medical Group. She has consistently been recognized by her peers in Texas Monthly Magazine's Super Doctors. She has also repeatedly been named one of America's Top Physicians.

Dr. Hung believes in treating every patient with dignity and compassion, and she strives to ensure that each patient feels heard. Her passion in life is to help the hurting find healing and experience God's love. This was birthed when her own life was transformed after putting her faith in Jesus during her sophomore year at Princeton. Outside of medicine, she is a trained Stephen Minister, where she has provided care for those going through a crisis or difficult time in life. In her personal time, she also enjoys playing classical piano, teaching Sunday school, and making memories with her husband and son.
