Tonya Cockrill, M.D. Board Certified Rheumatologist
Dr. Cockrill is board certified in Rheumatology. She was raised in the Montgomery area and graduated from Montgomery High School. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1999, she attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. There she completed both her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine. She then stayed to complete a two year combined clinical and research fellowship in the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunogenetics. She spent time researching the impact of pregnancy and birth order on the development of scleroderma. She also participated in multiple clinical trials for ankylosing spondylitis and scleroderma. She is honored to have received annual awards from Texas Monthly Magazine's Superdoctors for over 10 years.
As a mother of four teenagers, Dr. Cockrill understands the need to multi-task. Her goal is to preserve your amazing ability to function in the various aspects of your life and to help you find wellness. She shares your vision of compassionate, individualized patient care.
When Dr. Cockrill is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, going the beach, and hiking. She is thrilled to be practicing in a community that she loves.
